Described as illustrious and celebrated in their field, the DJ group of Invisibl Skratch Picklz recently came out with the new album The 13th Floor. The recent album marks just another milestone for the famous crew and the first ever all-DJ music group. By the late ’80s, three DJs of superb skill met and formed what we know by now as Invisbl Skratch Picklz. DJ Apollo, DJ Qbert, and Mix Master Mike came together as a unit to revolutionize the music of turntables and bolstered the item as a noteworthy and legitimate instrument. Now for the first time in two decades, the group has gotten together for a DJ battle.
Over the past week, the band put out a new videos on Instagram that has attracted many views and followers. The videos feature the DJs working a table with at least four turntables and has several minutes of versatile scatting and beats, in the midst of a DJ battle. Supported by the claps of percussion and a steady, deep bass, the tables are spun in a solo like audible movement. Going back and forth between short and choppy scratches to longer pauses between, the DJ doesn’t miss a beat or lose timing with the rhythm backing of the bass. In another video, the bass and drum beat are sped up and the swiftness of the record scratching becomes more pronounced. Then, a small vocal backing is brought to use as two of the DJs sit in concentration of their instrument. Watch the videos below…
