La Roux has released her long-awaited fourth studio album, Old Flames, marking a new chapter for the Grammy-winning artist. Out now via Vertigo Records, the 11-track record finds the singer-songwriter reflecting on relationships, identity, addiction and personal growth through her signature blend of electronic and pop music. Written, composed, produced and arranged entirely by La Roux, Old Flames explores several deeply personal experiences, including the end of a 17-year relationship, forbidden love and the challenges of navigating sexuality and identity under public scrutiny. The album balances nostalgia with forward-thinking production, drawing from the artist’s own experiences while continuing to push her sound in new directions.
Speaking about the record, La Roux described Old Flames as a way of confronting her past and moving forward. “This record says things how they are: how I am and who I am,” she explained. “Old Flames is essentially me processing why I’ve behaved the way that I have and saying goodbye to it. It’s a farewell to that way of behaving in love and life. And in music too.”
The album arrives alongside focus track “Night Vision,” which takes inspiration from Mariah Carey’s “Heartbreaker,” incorporating pitched-down vocals into a song centered on vulnerability and falling for an imagined version of someone. Elsewhere, previously released single “Lose Myself” addresses the singer’s experiences with dependency and self-medication, pairing its personal subject matter with the dramatic energy of mid-’90s Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson collaborations.
Old Flames follows a career that has seen La Roux establish herself as one of electronic pop’s most recognizable voices. Her self-titled 2009 debut helped redefine the sound of mainstream pop, earning international success and producing tracks that continue to influence artists across multiple genres. Since then, she has collaborated with Tyler, The Creator on his Grammy-winning album IGOR, worked with CASISDEAD on “Park Assist,” and contributed to projects alongside producers including Skream and Skrillex.
Following an extensive world tour supporting Hilary Duff, La Roux will head out on her own European and North American headline tour beginning in January 2027. The run includes stops in Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Mexico City before heading overseas for performances in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Glasgow and Manchester. The tour will conclude with a hometown performance at London’s Electric Brixton on March 24.
