Norwegian progressive black metal veterans Enslaved are celebrating the release of their 17th studio album, Mið, with a new visualizer for “I Am Ice,” featuring Sami musician Johan Sara Jr. Released October 30 through Nuclear Blast Records, Mið marks the band’s latest full-length offering and continues their longstanding exploration of Norse mythology, spirituality, and the boundaries of progressive extreme metal. The accompanying visualizer for “I Am Ice” brings additional attention to the album’s collaboration with Sara Jr., whose contribution draws on one of Europe’s oldest musical traditions.

Featuring eight tracks, Mið follows the band’s 2023 album Heimdal and continues Enslaved’s evolution through a blend of black metal intensity, progressive arrangements, and atmospheric experimentation. Guitarist Ivar Bjørnson expressed his enthusiasm for the new release, stating, “I am immensely proud to share it with you.”
Enslaved have also taken the new album on the road with a series of performances across Norway. The celebrations included an October 31 appearance at Oslo Spektrum, where the band shared the stage with fellow Norwegian metal acts Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon. With Mið, Enslaved continue to expand their distinctive musical and conceptual landscape, bringing together elements of Norwegian cultural heritage, mythology and progressive metal.
