Rapper and singer-songwriter Doechii has shared a new track today, “Lock Jaw.” The track is her third and latest from her series of “Swamp Sessions,” a series of freestyle tracks with accompanying music videos. “Lock Jaw” is the latest of these to be released in the build up to the rapper’s upcoming debut album. The video can be found on her YouTube.
The video features footage of Doechii singing and dancing at a party setting, with many shots seeing her at the center of a crowded scene of people and with shots coated in flashing lights, streamers and bright colors. The video often tries keeping the pace with Doechii’s fast flowing verses, with rapid cuts and a frenetic pace. Many shots also feature a variety of visual filters and effects, some creating a more analogue effect and others being more abstract or simply overwhelming. The whole video and song alike have a frenetic, bouncy and provocative feel to it.
Doechii served as the video’s Director and Creative Director, with Taya Lee being Co-Director and Movement Director. The description and video’s end card also list off Executive Producers Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith & Anthony Moosa Tifith, Producer Langston Griffith-Siebens and the entire lineup of performers seen in the video.
“Lock Jaw” is the latest of the Swamp Session singles, following the previous two releases of “Catwoman” and “Bombs.” The releases come as the rapper continues to work on her debut album, following her 2024 mixtape release Alligator Bites Never Heal.
