Tony Iommi releases a new lyric video for the opening track, “Over the Violent Sun,” from his new album From the Dark on Oct. 23. Tony Iommi, the legendary guitar player and songwriter for Black Sabbath, is joined by Jorn Lande on vocals, Karl Brazil on drums, Becky Baldwin on bass and Mike Exeter on keyboards.
The lyric video has a black-and-white background depicting images of nails, trees, vines and crosses. Old statues and churches are also shown while the lyrics appear in the foreground.
“Over the Violent Sun” starts off with a heavy riff before the full instrumentation comes in, joined by Lande’s vocals with an aggressive but melodic vocal melody that creates an ethereal sound. After the second chorus, Iommi gives the audience a shredding guitar solo, proving that the legendary metal guitarist is still on top of his game, writing heavy tracks for his fans to enjoy.
