Chappell Roan Invites Caroline Polachek, PinkPantheress & Lola Young Onstage For Duets At LA Benefit Concert

Chappell Roan closed out her first Super Graphic Spectacular benefit concert in Los Angeles last night, and she ended it with bang by joining Caroline Polachek’s performance of “Look at Me Now,” and later inviting out a pair of surprise guests to Roan’s own headliner. As reported by Pitchfork, The Midwest Princess brought out a one-two punch of surprise guests with PinkPantheress joining for performance of “Tonight,” and later Lola Young stepping in for “Picture You.”

Roan brought out alt-pop star PinkPantheress to play her hit track, “Tonight.” The two shared a humorous interaction on stage when PinkPantheress turned to Roan and quoted the song’s chorus by saying, “can I ask you – you want sex with me? Come talk to me!” She then turned to the crowd, asking “You want sex with her? Come talk to her, okay? You want sex with all of you guys? Come talk to us!” The humorous moment at the end of the performance lit up the crowd and closed out the first guest performance. Roan later began a performance of her own song, “Picture You,” where halfway through the track she welcomed out Lola Young to take over the next few verses. The two ended the track in a duet.

These performances helped to close out the Super Graphic Spectacular, an anniversary concert and fundraiser for Midwest Princess Project which benefits LGBTQ+ youth. Roan had previously welcomed out some surprise features on her first set on Wednesday night, bringing Christina Aguilera out on the opening night of the Super Graphic Spectacular.

Steven Taylor: Hello, I'm Steven! I'm a graduate of Seton Hall University. I majored in journalism, with a minor in Public Relations. I've always had a passion for the arts and creative fields. Writing especially is an area I've always found myself gravitating towards, between assignments in class, working for the school newspaper or just writing in my spare time. I love providing and hearing new perspectives. In addition to my studies and work in writing, I work part-time at after-school and summer programs for my local elementary school. I've been a part of these programs since I was in high school, and I've even been assigned to work one-to-one with children with special needs. I like to think that if I'm able to communicate well with children in the 2nd grade, then I can communicate well with most adults too!
