According to Consequence.net, post metal band Neurosis kicked off their North American fall reunion tour last Friday in San Francisco at the Fillmore. These shows launched an outing that runs through January 2 show in Los Angeles, marking the first proper tour for the influential post-metal band since their comeback earlier this year.
Previously, Neurosis has only played a couple of one-off gigs in the summer, including the Fire in the Mountains festival in Montana in July and a one-off show with Acid Bath in Asheville, North Carolina, in early September. Friday’s San Francisco show saw the band play 11 songs, including six from An Undying Love for a Burning World. It featured the live debut of that album’s “Seething and Scattered,” as well as the first performance of Fires Within Fires‘ “Broken Ground” since 2019.
Neurosis are touring behind their new album, An Undying Love for Burning World, which topped Consequence‘s mid-year list of the Best Albums of 2026 So Far. The band surprise released the album upon announcing their return after a seven-year hiatus in March, when they also revealed that Aaron Turner (ISIS, SUMAC) is their new singer-guitarist, replacing longtime frontman Scott Kelly.
