Lana Del Rey and Zach Bryan have finally made their long-awaited collaboration official. The two singer-songwriters have teamed up for “Lies,” a new duet featured on Bryan’s latest EP, Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs, released October 16 via Belting Bronco Records and Warner Records. The collaboration brings together two artists who have a way of making heartbreak feel almost cinematic, even when the subject matter is messy. Their voices eventually come together, creating a duet that explores the nuance and complicated space between wanting the truth and wanting someone to stay.
At its heart, “Lies” is about the promises people make in relationships and the comfort that can come from hearing what you want to hear. There is something painfully relatable about that idea: sometimes, even when a relationship is falling apart, a small part of you still wants the reassurance that everything might work out. The collaboration has been a long time coming for fans of both artists. Lana Del Rey previously teased the song on social media in September, sharing a glimpse of Bryan in the studio and writing, “Whale, we finally got our song done. And that’s no Lie.” The playful caption hinted at the track’s title and gave fans a preview of a pairing that had already generated plenty of curiosity.

According to Pitchfork, Bryan has also announced a 2027 tour spanning North America and Australia, set to begin in April in Minneapolis. The run will feature rotating opening acts, including Vance Joy, Emma Ogier, and Gabriella Rose, with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty scheduled to appear as a special guest on select dates. With “Lies,” Bryan and Del Rey bring together two distinct musical identities for a collaboration rooted in longing and vulnerability. Whether listeners come for Bryan’s heartfelt storytelling or Del Rey’s unmistakable vocals, the track offers an intimate look at the complicated emotions that can linger when love and honesty do not quite line up.
