Frank Carter Ejects Fan From Sex Pistols Show Over Women-Only Mosh Pit

Frank Carter kicked out a fan from a Sex Pistols show for disapproving of an all-women mosh pit on Oct. 9 at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado. Before introducing the song “No Feelings,” Carter organized a moment during the set for women to mosh. When a male fan expressed disapproval of the idea, Carter addressed the crowd, saying:

“Every time, there’s always a fucking man that tells me, women can do this all the fucking time. Like, they can’t. They fucking can’t. Do you know why? Because they walk in the mosh pit and they get a fucking elbow to the head by a fucking idiot!”

The fan shook his head in response to Carter’s message, prompting the singer to address him directly. According to NME, Carter responded:

“You’re shaking your head like you’re a fucking woman? Are you fucking stupid? It’s not your lived experience, so just shut the fuck up!”

As the exchange continued, Carter became increasingly frustrated. He banged the microphone against his own head to demonstrate what it felt like to talk to a brick wall.

Carter then attempted to move on and resume organizing the all-women mosh pit, but the fan interrupted him again. Security eventually removed the fan from the venue, allowing the show to continue.
