Last week, Miley Cyrus’ new album Bass Persuades debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with around 61,000 total album units, making the album Miley’s first chart-topper since the release of her album Bangerz in 2013. The album’s title track, “Bass Persuades,” quickly became the #1 Most Added Overall Song at US Radio and dominated global debuts at #1 on the US Spotify Top Songs chart and #2 globally, peaking on the Hot 100 at No. 35. However, according to Variety, as of this week the album has dropped to No. 157 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the biggest chart drop ever for an album in the week after a No. 1 debut. This follows Miley’s 2025 album Something Beautiful debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart before dropping to No. 102 in its second week and disappearing from the chart altogether in its third week. Bass Persuades is Cyrus’ first album released through Atlantic Records after she left Columbia Records earlier this year. It’s also her first album that she’s released under the mononym “Miley.” Miley has released several music videos for songs on Bass Persuades, including “Different Religion,” “Let’s Get Married,” and “Bass Persuades.”
Miley will take the stage for a sold-out, two-night engagement at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, on October 16 and 18. Despite what the charts show, ticket pre-sales generated unprecedented, record-breaking demand, with nearly 1.5 million fans joining the queue for the headline show and both shows selling out within 10 minutes.
