A Los Angeles crowd was lucky enough to hear Hayley Williams and Zedd classic, performed live! On Monday night, Williams brought out German EDM artist, Zedd. They performed their 2012 hit track “Stay The Night” for the first time in 12 years.
Stereogum tells us that Williams “fueled speculation” that some of her older hits would make the setlists for the shows a part of her tour: The Hayley Williams Show. For this performance of “Stay The Night”, we see Zedd seated at the piano for a much more stripped down version of the song, putting more emphasis on Williams vocal ability. Her ability to hit the full range featured in the song while performing live is a sight to behold. The soaring piano medley behind her vocals creates for a jaw dropping music experience.
The studio version of “Stay The Night”, released in 2013, features a soft piano intro with a snare drum triumphantly leading a march into the bridge and build up. Williams’ voice carries much power across every genre she tackles, rivaling any pop singer. Her ability to find hooks and catchy melodies is an inspiration to many incredible artists. Zedd’s electronic instrumental makes this track a necessity for any party.
Williams recently received a response from the Department of Homeland Security regarding her anti-ICE comments made at a show the night of October 3rd. After the spokesperson said in a statement that “America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe…We suggest Ms. Williams to thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice,” Williams posted a reply to their Instagram story, a story we covered!
