Ween Announce New Box Set Boognish Provides For October 2026 Release Featuring 7 Concert Recordings From The Chocolate And Cheese Tour

Ween is releasing a new box set, Boognish Provides, on Oct. 16. The box set contains seven unreleased concerts recorded during the band’s Chocolate and Cheese Tour. The collection will be released as a four-CD box set and a two-LP set, featuring 19 performances drawn from all seven shows.

The seven concerts featured in the collection are McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, California, on Oct. 9, 1994; The Metro in Chicago, Illinois, on Oct. 30, 1994; First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Oct. 31, 1994; The 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia, on Feb. 10, 1995; Hof Ter Lo in Antwerp, Belgium, on March 27, 1995; Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado, on May 20, 1995; and Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on June 16, 1995.

The Chocolate and Cheese Tour was a turning point for the band as they transitioned from recording at home to working in a professional studio. During the tour, Gene Ween, whose real name is Aaron Freeman, and Dean Ween, whose real name is Mickey Melchiondo, performed with a backing band for the first time, featuring drummer Claude Coleman and bassist Andrew Weiss.

The box set includes multiple performances of songs from Chocolate and Cheese, including “I Can’t Put My Finger On It,” “Take Me Away” and “Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down).” Ween performed 12 of the album’s 16 tracks during the tour. The collection also includes a rare acoustic version of “Voodoo Lady” recorded at McCabe’s Guitar Shop.

The track list also includes older Ween songs from albums such as GodWeenSatan: The Oneness, the band’s debut album, The Pod and Pure Guava. The collection also features earlier renditions and live debuts of songs that would later appear on albums such as “Piss Up A Rope,” “Flutes of Chi” and “The Blarney Stone.”
