Electronic duo Sofi Tukker and pop rock band OneRepublic have teamed up to drop a new single. The track, titled “Tsunami” released today in the midst of Sofi Tukker’s Animal Talk Tour, complete with a visualizer. The video and track can be found on Sofi Tukker’s Youtube channel.
The visualizer is appropriately coated in blue, with a bright grainy effect to it. The track opens with a light, airy vibe to it and an overall relaxing mood. Tukker’s Sophie Hawley-Weld leads the vocals for the first half, before passing off to OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder for the second half. Both are joined by a sea of backing vocals, coming together to make a short, catchy track with an upbeat dance-like energy to it.
“It was awesome to be in the studio with a legendary song writer like Ryan,” Sofi Tukker shared in a statement regarding the collaboration. “It was so natural and it came quick and we loved it ever since. It took a bunch of different versions of it and ended up feeling timeless, musical and lush.”
The new release comes in the midst of North American tours for Sofi Tukker, with shows ongoing across the continent until October 31st. The release also marks the latest in a string of collaborations from the duo, including an ongoing rollout of custom designs made in collaboration with guitar manufacturers Gibson.
