Multi-Grammy winning singer-songwriter Finneas shared new release yesterday on Friday, September 25th. The new track, “My Moon My Man (Amazon Music Original)” is a cover of the original 2007 song by indie pop artist Feist. Finneas’ new cover was released exclusively for Amazon Music and can be found there.
The new cover “transforms the song into a hypnotic pop track, layering pulsing production beneath its familiar melody while keeping the intimacy of Feist’s original.” The song features a steady beat and guitar work, with Finneas singing over the track layered in different vocal effects. The release of this cover comes just ahead of the 2026 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which takes place today on September 26th. The event, held in Massey Hall in Toronto, will feature Finneas indicting Feist into the Hall of Fame for her songwriting ability and influence. Finneas will also be performing at the ceremony, all of which will be livestreamed on Twitch and via the Amazon Music app, as well as through Prime Video in Canada.
Finneas also made headlines recently as one of the many supporting acts to pull out from Ed Sheeran‘s ongoing stadium tour. Finneas joined fellow supporting acts Lukas Graham and Aaron Rowe, as well as Sheeran’s backing band Beoga, all pulling out from the tour in solidarity with rapper and fellow tour supporter Macklemore. Macklemore was removed from the tour following a speech in support of Palestine at a September 4th show at New Jersey’s Metlife Stadium.
