Ed Sheeran’s Gillette Stadium Shows Canceled Due To Severe Weather

Ed Sheeran’s two scheduled shows at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, have been cancelled due to severe weather expected across New England this weekend. The Loop Tour concerts, originally scheduled for Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, were called off following consultation between local officials, the promoter and the tour. Officials cited hazardous weather warnings and said the safety of fans, staff and everyone involved was the priority.

CNN stated that the cancellation comes as Sheeran’s tour has already been surrounded by controversy following the departure of Macklemore. The rapper was removed from the remaining U.S. dates after making Pro-Palestinian statements during his opening performances. Robert Kraft, whose company owns Gillette Stadium, had objected to Macklemore appearing at the venue. Sheeran has said the decision to remove Macklemore was made by the tour promoter rather than by him.

Ticket holders will be refunded at their original point of purchase, with Ticketmaster purchases being automatically refunded.
