Animal Collective will perform their 2005 album “Feels” in full at Knockdown Center on October 22nd. This show will be one of only two chances to catch the experimental pop band perform together as a foursome after four years.
“Feels”, Animal Collective’s sixth studio album, marked the beginning of the band’s most illustrious era. Pitchfork placed it at number 55 on their list of “The 200 Best Albums of the 2000s”. It also placed third in The Wire’s annual critics’ poll. Following its release, Animal Collective embarked on their most extensive tour at the time, visiting Australia and New Zealand for the first time in addition to their North American and European dates.
Animal Collective celebrated the 20th anniversary of “Feels” last year with a limited-edition pressing of the record, featuring a bonus disc with B-sides and previously unreleased demos. Last week, they shared the FEELS LIVE announcement on Instagram, stating, “When we celebrated the Feels 20th Anniversary edition last year, people often asked, ‘Why aren’t you performing it live?’ It was a good question, and honestly, one we just hadn’t asked ourselves. We were so used to our schedules not lining up that we didn’t consider it. But yeah, why didn’t we? The celebration felt incomplete to you all, and to us too.” Join the “Feels” celebration in Queens this October.
