My Chemical Romance invites King Diamond onstage and MCR’s singer Gerard Way teases a potential new MCR album in San Antonio, Texas, on September 12 at Alamodome Stadium during The Black Parade 2026 Stadium Tour.
Gerard Way welcomed King Diamond onstage to perform the song “Mama,” which is the ninth track on the 2006 The Black Parade album. Accompanying them was the opera singer Lucy Joy Altus, who plays the sight-impaired character Marianne from the MCR fictional world called “Draagg.”
King stepped onstage without his usual corpse paint, wearing a top hat and glasses with his signature black bishop’s coat from Mercyful Fate. At the end of the song, Gerard Way and the other bandmates kneeled as King Diamond knighted them.
At the end of the night, Gerard Way told the audience that the band always wanted to make another record and complimented the audience by saying:
“You guys kept us alive for so long. You guys deserve another record.”
There is no set release date for the new album and no timeline yet. This would be the first full release since their 2010s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. This announcement set a brand new beginning for the band and got the fans excited for the band’s future.
