Anthrax treated fans to an intimate concert yesterday that came full of surprises. At a concert in new location of the Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, New York, the band treated fans to the live debuts of three new tracks, as well as a cover of Sick Of It All’s “Clobberin’ Time,” as Blabbermouth reports. Videos of some of the performance, including the cover, were posted across social media.
The stacked show was performed as part of the re-opening of the Saint Vitus Bar, which had closed in 2024 due to lacking proper permits. The setlist totaled 15 songs, with three covers mixed in including not only the Sick Of It All cover but also “Got The Time” by Joe Jackson and “Antisocial” by TRUST. The songs “The Edge of Perfection” and “NYC 93” received their live debuts, as well as “Everybody’s Got A Plan” which was laso played in full for the first time at the concert. According to Blabbermouth, “NYC 93” was the closing track for the night which the band played twice alongside the album version of the track to record for it’s music video shoot.
The performance comes just ahead of the highly anticipated twelfth studio album by the band. Cursum Perficio will drop on September 18th, marking the first album by the band since 2016.
