Susanne Sundfor has returned with the announcement of the follow up to her 2023 studio record blómi. Sundfor’s eighth full-length album Revelations Of Divine Love is set to arrive on October 2 via Bella Union. To celebrate the forthcoming project’s release, Sundfor has shared “I It Am” which was co-composed alongside Mercury Prize nominee Kit Downes.

Speaking on the inspiration behind her forthcoming record, Sundfor offered, “We live in a world of horror, full of unhappy, unsatisfied people doing terrible things to each other. You don’t have to be religious to believe that love is the answer. Swap the word God for love and you have a higher power that is universal.”

Sundfor revealed that Revelations of Divine Love comes after a life-changing period for her in which she became a mother of two and settled in the Norwegian countryside. As such, it was important to her that the new album would strike a balance between whimsy and power, “Traditionally, vocals accompanied by an organ are powerful and loud. I wanted the opposite—soft, whispered, as understated as possible. It’s about authenticity, not perfection. It had to be playful and whimsical.”
