Steve Lacy brings the Oh Yeah? Tour in support of his new album of the same name to Radio City Music Hall on October 10th.
Growing up in Compton, California, Steve Lacy began learning the guitar when he was seven years old and joined the Internet in 2015, for which he produced the Grammy-nominated album, Ego Death, while he was still recording music on his phone as a high schooler. Releasing music on his own and collaborating with big names from Kendrick Lamar to Vampire Weekend as early as 2015, Lacy put out his debut full-length, Apollo XXI, in 2019, which explored a wide range of funk and R&B and was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 62nd Grammys. In 2022, he released Gemini Rights, featuring the hit song “Bad Habit” which skyrocketed him to star status, reaching No. 1 on a record-breaking six different Billboard charts at once after going viral on TikTok with over 400,000 videos created.
This past July, Lacy released Oh yeah?, which included features from Erykah Badu and SZA (“is it cool?” debuted at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100) and debuted at No. 14 on the Hot 200 and No. 3 on the Top R&B Albums chart. The album navigates what it means to connect with others in 2026 and features an expansive melding of different genres from grunge to jungle as Lacy sings about desire from all angles. Known for his honest and intimate explorations of lust and longing with relatable lyrics, adventurous production styles, and distinct guitar playing, Steve Lacy continues to be an accessible voice of his generation and lives up to Rolling Stone’s description of him as “one of his era’s defining pop auteurs.”
