Slash Reveals “There’s a Lot of Writing Going Down” For a New Guns N’ Roses Album

Slash revealed on podcast interview with Rolling Stone Australia that “There’s a Lot of Writing Going Down” for the new Guns N’ Roses album. NME reports that the band hasn’t released an album since 2008’s ‘Chinese Democracy’.  However, Slash has said that the album will need to be recorded after his new collaborative album with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators is released. ““We just finished the new record that’s coming out after this Guns [N’ Roses] tour, and then we’re gonna go on the road,” he told Rolling Stone Australia. “It comes out in February [2027]. So right after this [Guns N’ Roses] tour’s over, that one starts up…” (NME). Slash also said that he has no intention of breaking up with Guns N’ Roses again as he said, “I do it because I love to do it … I just love jamming with those guys, and we get together and we just play. It’s also very simple” (NME).

Since the bands reunion in 2016, Slash always teased new music from Guns N’ Roses throughout 2019 by him saying, “There’s material and stuff going on already for a new record. It’s just that, with Guns N’ Roses, you don’t go ‘Oh, there’s a plan, and it’s going to be like this.’ That’s not how it works … “We’re hoping to put a new record out, and we’ll just see what happens when it happens” (NME). In 2025 Slash added to this statement by saying any new music would come down to “having the discipline to sit down and fucking get into it … “So it’s coming,” he promised. “I know it’s coming because everybody is thinking about it. It’ll just happen when it happens” (NME).
