Back for round 2! Geese presents the Getting Killed Again North American tour this fall with two hometown shows at Forest Hills Stadium on October 2nd (with Leenalchi) and 3rd (with billy woods).
Formed in NYC in 2016 by Brooklyn Friends and LREI classmates, Cameron Winter (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Emily Green (guitar), Foster Hudson (guitar), Dominic DiGesu (bass) and Max Bassin (drums), Geese had originally intended to break up after graduation, an idea that would in retrospect have been a huge mistake. Practicing and recording in Bassin’s basement during high school, the band’s early demos attracted the attention of several labels in 2020, with the band eventually signing a joint deal with Partisan Records and Play It Again Sam. Less than a year later, they released their first official album, Projector, which introduced the world to their eclectic brand of nervy post-punk with tracks like “Low Era” and “Projector,” that owe their sound to NYC bands like Interpol and The Strokes and simultaneously show signs that the band would soon stretch that sound in multiple unexpected directions. After the success of their strong debut, Geese began to evolve on 2023’s 3D Country, which saw them incorporating ‘70s inspired classic rock on “Cowboy Nudes,” “I See Myself,” and more, while embracing a frenetically aggressive energy on “2122,” “Mysterious Love,” and “Undoer.”
After Hudson left the group in 2023 and Winter’s solo debut, Heavy Metal, skyrocketed Geese’s steadily growing exposure to new heights in 2024, they released their third studio album, Getting Killed, in 2025, which was produced by hip-hop legend Kenny Beats (who they requested go by his original name, Kenneth Blume), named best album of 2025 by Stereogum and The New Yorker, and led to performances on high-profile stages including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NPR’s Tiny Desk, and SNL. The album presents a heightened version of everything Geese has created so far: chaotic opener “Trinidad” seamlessly blends funky trombone with howled vocals, “Islands of Man” transitions from a Rolling Stones-esque strut into art-rock transcendence, “Au Pays du Cocaine” and “Half Real” showcase the band’s tender side, and closer “Long Island City Here I Come” is tense, frantic, groovy, and feels as if you just might have a heart attack. The band embarked on a world tour for the album in late 2025 and early 2026 where they were joined by keyboardist Sam Revaz for an impressive run of shows that featured their signature raw energy, free-flowing pandemonium, and organismically tight playing. Now they’re back for round two, with the Getting Killed Again tour in North America this fall. With their ever growing experimental post-punk sound made up of Bassin and DiGesu’s athletic, monster groove, Green’s jagged, time-bending guitar playing, and Winter’s unconventionally gripping vocals and blunt lyrics, Geese have successfully taken pieces from their wide-ranging list of heroes, fused them into an exhilarating new sound, and become one of the biggest names in this decade of rock music.
