Dawn Richard is continuing her ambitious musical journey with the announcement of her new album, Creole Culture, arriving October 9, 2026 via Merge Records. Alongside the announcement, the singer, songwriter, and multidisciplinary artist has released the album’s latest single, “enough,” offering another glimpse into what promises to be one of her most personal and expansive projects yet. Following the critically acclaimed New Breed and Second Line, Richard completes another chapter of her New Orleans-inspired creative vision with Creole Culture. Rather than simply reflecting on the city’s past, the album imagines its future, blending the traditions of Black and Native American Creole culture with futuristic R&B, soul, pop, hip-hop, jazz and Afro-Caribbean bass.

Leading the announcement is “enough,” an emotionally resonant track that trades flashy production for heartfelt vulnerability. Built around smooth synth textures, warm percussion and Richard’s expressive vocals, the song feels intimate while maintaining the futuristic sonic identity that has become one of her trademarks. The single follows the previously released “baby, can we?” featuring Durand Bernarr, which showcased the album’s soulful chemistry and genre-blurring approach. Together, the two songs hint at an album that balances confidence with vulnerability, celebrating community while also telling Richard’s own story.
Creole Culture features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Big Freedia, Durand Bernarr, Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, Tarriona “Tank” Ball, and Frank Richard of Chocolate Milk. The project was co-executive produced with Katalyst, the acclaimed Inglewood-based music collective known for working alongside artists such as Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Solange, Lizzo, Usher, Jay-Z and Anderson Paak. According to Richard, Creole Culture serves as the final piece in a trilogy that began with New Breed and Second Line. While those albums explored New Orleans through the perspectives of her parents, this record tells her own story, imagining a version of the city where tradition and innovation coexist rather than compete.
