Music news suppliers BrooklynVegan, Alternative Press, Revolver and Goldmine have undergone mass layoffs. According to Pitchfork, nearly all of the publications’ staff were laid off by their parent company Veeps yesterday. 

Veeps has existed as a ticketing livestream platform, coming into possession of the handful of music publications in 2024 or 2025, at which point the newest of the publications had been around for two decades. Goldmine, the oldest of the acquired publications, was founded in the mid-1970s, printing physical papers; Alternative Press was started in 1985; while BrooklynVegan and Revolver both kicked off in the early 2000s. 

Specific reasoning regarding the layoffs has not been revealed as of yet. Emails to BrooklynVegan staffers have also reportedly bounced back, save those to the founder, Dave Levine.
