The Australian artist Courtney Barnett is bringing her “Creature Of Habit” tour to San Francisco for a three-night run at The Fillmore, which is from August 26th, 27th and 28th! This tour follows the release of her newest album, “Creature Of Habit,” which arrived on March 27, 2026.
This album marks her first record written and recorded outside of Australia, as Barnett moved out of Sydney and to Los Angeles. Along with Los Angeles, this album was worked on in Joshua Tree, specifically at Rancho de la Luna, where the studio’s chill atmosphere influenced the album to feel more dynamic and have strong roots to a specific place. “Creature Of Habit” is immensely inspired by Southern California’s impact on Barnett, her experiences moving to and living in LA and Joshua Tree being a core theme along with embracing the shifting in environment, perspective, and change as a concept. Zoh Amba, an American free jazz musician and composer is going to be opening the show. Amba’s boundary-pushing, folk-infused avant-garde jazz style paired with Barnett’s unique lyricism, delivery, and guitar technique, result in a mosaic of sounds and idioms.
Those who attend the show can look forward to experiencing a wide variety of themes, energy, and musical qualities. Including music of all kinds of energy levels, lyrical themes, levels of popularity, as well as both new and old, the show is sure to highlight her vast musical style and highlight the musical evolution that this album brings.
