Photo Review: Vans Warped Tour Day One Featuring Hoobastank, Hot Chelle Rae, Winona Fighter & More

From the moment the rope dropped to the last moments of Simple Plan closing out the day, the energy around Long Beach was filled with excitement and strong vibes. Hundreds of fans gathered under the hot sun to get a glimpse of their favorite bands perform on the biggest of stages. Hosted by one of the most famous humans in the scene, Kevin Lyman, has put on this amazing show case of the best bands over the last 2 decades. Many of these bands have been here since the start and love coming back because the fans are what makes this event like no other. Day 1 was filled with so many activities like Extreme Sports, Record Labels selling merch, and Meet & Greets from bands.

It was a festival like no other and the bands made it more memorable as fans were brought back to their teen years with a lot of old school bands playing. Every bands career either started or grew with this festival, and you can see the growth from their fanbase that came out to see them. Fans were singing their hearts out, crowd surfing, and mosh pitting as they sang along with their favorite bands. As the night came near, fans started to crowd the Beatbox stage as Hoobastank was about to play. When they came on, the whole crowd erupted as they were transported 26 years in the past. Singing their hearts out, Hoobastank ended their set with their most memorable song to date, The Reason, allowing the fans to sing the song for them word for word. Once this set ended, fans rushed over to the Vans stage to get a good spot for Simple Plan who ended the night. They put on a wonderful show while playing their hit songs, ‘Jet Lag’ who they invited Canadian artist LoLo to the stage to sing with them, ‘Welcome to My Life’, ‘Perfect’, and their famous song with guest appearances from Scooby and Shaggy, ‘What’s New Scooby Doo’.
