Jon Batiste At The Hollywood Bowl On September 27th

Jon Batiste, the eight-time Grammy- and Academy Award-winning singer, songwriter and composer, is set to close out the Hollywood Bowl’s Bowl-produced programming on Sunday, September 27, as part of the KCRW Festival.

The performance follows Batiste’s ninth studio album, BIG MONEY, released in August 2025 via Verve and Interscope, a record rooted in American traditions spanning gospel, soul, blues, folk and rock ‘n’ roll, featuring guests such as Andra Day, Randy Newman and No I.D. The album earned three nominations at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards and won Best Americana Album, capping a landmark stretch that also included his Super Bowl performance and the chart-topping success of his solo-piano project Beethoven Blues.

To support the album, Batiste embarked on The Big Money Tour: Jon Batiste Plays America, a run he has described as a “creative church” blending New Orleans street-parade energy, intimate storytelling and symphonic color. The tour stopped at more than 30 venues across the U.S., including Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Grand Ole Opry, spotlighting improvisation and collective singing.

A New Orleans native and former bandleader of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Batiste won Album of the Year for 2021’s We Are and an Academy Award for co-scoring Pixar’s Soul. His life during that period was captured in the acclaimed 2024 Netflix documentary American Symphony. For Los Angeles audiences, the Hollywood Bowl show promises what Batiste calls a healing, liberating and unforgettable evening, a jubilant celebration of the American musical traditions he champions.
