Beabadoobeee embarks on The Powerlines Tour for her new album, Pylon, out on September 18th. She arrives in NYC with a show at Madison Square Garden on October 5th with support from shoegaze revivalist Wisp.
Beatrice Laus (aka beabadoobee)’s family moved from the Philippines to London where she began playing guitar at age 17. Beginning by making songs in the safe space of her bedroom, she released her debut track, “Coffee,” in 2017, which became an instant online hit. In 2020, the rapper and singer Powfu reworked her acoustic lullaby into the hit “death bed (coffee for your head), landing Laus a record deal with Dirty Hit Records. She released her debut album, Fake It Flowers, in 2020, a bedroom-crafted love letter to the ‘90s artists and movies she was inspired by growing up. With each track serving as a “diary-entry,” Laus hoped that the album would help other young women work through similar problems that she had as her inspirations had done for her. The artist’s strong start in the industry gained her quick recognition: she was shortlisted for the Rising Star Award at the BRIT Awards, won the NME’s Radar Award, and was named the Top New Rock Artist of 2020 by Billboard. In
She went on to embrace the lighter side of her sound on 2022’s Beatopia and 2024’s This is How Tomorrow Moves; the latter of which was recorded with legendary producer Rick Rubin and debuted at the top of the UK charts. Reckoning with the extensive touring process for those two albums, she crafted the upcoming Pylon, to which she hopes fans will “listen, enjoy, cry, scream, and find your own meaning in” when it releases on September 18th. With the powerful and unapologetically confident lead single, “Sun Has Set,” as well as unreleased features from rock icons Hayley Williams and Brendan Yates, Laus’ upcoming release is bound to be one to remember.
