Phoebe Bridgers announces first headlining tour in years this fall! The indie folk icon will be embarking on the phones-free “The Lost Tour” across North America reportedly in support of new music she has debuted at various intimate concerts this spring. She’ll be stopping in NYC for a massive three-night run at the Barclays Center on September 24th, 25th, and 26th, with support from Alex G.
Born in 1994 in Pasadena, California, Bridgers dove into the music-making world at a young age, learning guitar at age 13 and busking at the Pasadena Farmers Market. She performed as a part of bands like Sloppy Jane before releasing her first EP, Killer, in 2015. Signing to independent label, Dead Oceans, in 2017, she released her first full-length album, Stranger in the Alps, launching her to widespread acclaim and leading to opportunities like NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. The album, with hits like “Motion Sickness” and “Funeral,” established her sound known for its hauntingly beautiful arrangements and devastatingly personal lyrics. She expanded on these themes on 2020’s Punisher, which included the beautiful but heavy-hitting “I Know the End,” which tows the line between soothing acoustic indie and aggressive rock chaos and adds trumpet and strings to Bridgers’ soaring and transcendent sound. The song’s live performance proves to be a cathartic moment for everyone involved with its gut-wrenching screams and forceful energy that led her to smash her guitar against an (albeit fake) amp on SNL.
Bridgers is also a member of the indie supergroups Better Oblivion Community Center with Bright Eyes singer Conor Oberst and Boygenius with indie icons Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. In 2024, Boygenius took home three Grammy awards for their debut full-length album, The Record, bringing Bridgers’ Grammy count to four for that year. Bridgers brings the same full band energy to her solo shows as she does to Boygenius, maintaining an impressive balance between her acoustic ballads and full band arrangements. Despite playing to massive stadiums, Phoebe Bridgers has the unique ability to put on an incredibly intimate show and with the exclusion of phones, “The Lost Tour,” promises to be an incredibly special experience.
Don’t miss the chance to see one of the defining indie artists of the 21st century deliver a night to remember at the Barclays Center on September 24th, 25th, and 26th. Due to Bridgers’ overwhelming popularity, all three shows have sold out within one day of general onsale, but you can join the waitlist here.
