Skrillex Surprise Drops New Album Soma With Features From Yung Miko, Blawan, Tracey & More

Surprise, it’s a new Skrillex album, after teasing his fifth studio album on Instagram Stories just days ago. It was a sort of a surprise when the album came out today (June 5), a project named Soma (The word “soma” refers to the body in Greek, and to a mythical intoxicant in Hindu scripture) an experimental album populated with new and regular collaborators including ISOxo, MC Dricka, Anita B Queen, Taichu, Chris Lake, Feid, Naisha, Blawan and quite a few others. The 13-track is out now and features contributions from Tracey, Blawan, RHR, and more.

This crew brings a lot of their own unique flavors making it altogether feel like Skrill is laying foundation for his friends to contribute to an album that altogether sounds extremely worldly and of the moment. Opening with the title track alongside Nitepunk, ‘SOMA’ moves through club-focused cuts, vocal collaborations, and bass-driven productions that reflect many of the creative partnerships featured throughout Skrillex’s recent DJ sets and performances.

The record arrives following the recent singles ‘Duro’ with Young Miko, ‘Smoke’ with ISOxo, and ‘Thistle’ alongside Blawan, Randomer, and MC Dricka. Across the album, Skrillex also works with artists including Chris Lake, Feid, Naisha, Nitepunk, BEAM, Anita B Queen, RHR, and Taichu.

The release follows the debut of CONTRA, his new event platform developed with Berlin Atonal, and coincides with his return to Primavera Sound Barcelona.

This weekend, Skrillex will present a curated lineup at Primavera Sound’s Cupra Pulse stage, handling programming from 6:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, June 6. Not in Spain? You can still tune in for his Friday night set thanks to the Primavera Sound 2026 livestream, as well as other performances by the Cure, the xx, Oklou, and many more throughout the weekend.
