Photo Review: They Might Be Giants at Brooklyn Steel

They Might Be Giants played night two of three at Brooklyn Steel on May 29th, 2026. Opening for themselves, they effectively were the entire show. John Linnell sat at the keys, switching between clarinet and vocals alongside John Flansburgh. The band’s long-running lineup remains packed with talent, and over the decades they’ve built a sound that is unmistakably their own.

The crowd seemed simply happy to be there, moving through selections from They Might Be Giants’ extensive discography with easy familiarity. Flansburgh carried a lightness and warmth throughout the set, and his between-song jokes kept the room consistently engaged, with much of the audience smiling for the duration of the performance.
