Bright Eyes brought their 21st anniversary celebration of I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn to the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night, May 23, performing both landmark albums in full for a Los Angeles crowd gathered under the Bowl’s open sky. The night leaned into nostalgia without feeling stuck in it, as Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, Nathaniel Walcott, and company revisited one of the band’s most defining eras with the weight, looseness, and emotional pull that has kept these songs alive for more than two decades.
