The rapper Offset of Migos fame has reportedly been shot in an incident outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. According to the Seminole Police Department, Offset, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is currently in stable condition at the Memorial Regional Hospital with “non-life threatening injuries.” Two people were detained by officers following the shooting.
A representative’s statement to Variety offered, “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.”
The incident is reported to have taken place just outside the casino in a valet parking area after 7pm local time on Monday evening. According to CBS News, police were called to the scene shortly after and declared no threat to the general public with operations expected to continue as normal. Details regarding suspects and motives have yet to be released.
This isn’t the first time a member of the Grammy-nominated rap group Migos has been negative impacted by gun violence. Back in November of 2022, Takeoff, the youngest member of the trio, was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. Quavo paid tribute to his late nephew with two tracks entitled “Honey Bun” and “Without You” in 2023. Offset also dedicated the song “Never Let Go ft. John Legend” to Takeoff in 2025.
