Gorillaz have announced a North American tour supporting their newly released album, The Mountain. The tour includes a stop at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on Saturday, October 24th.
The Live Nation-produced 22-date Mountain Tour is slated to kick off on Sept. 17 with a show at the Kia Center in Orlando, Fla., followed by gigs in Miami, Atlanta, New York, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Oakland and Portland before winding down on Oct. 31 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Wash. Deltron 3030 opening all shows, with Little Simz as well on most of them.
The band formed by Blur’s Damon Albarn and longtime friend and artist Jamie Hewlett in 1998 just released their ninth studio album, The Mountain, yet another eclectic collection featuring a wide range of collaborators, including Indian legend Asha Bhosle, as well as the Roots’ Black Thought, former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, British sitar master Anoushka Shankar and Sparks, among many others.
