Album Review: Stabbing – Eon Of Obscenity

Eon Of Obscenity brings a raw and powerful musical style.

As 2026 continues to roll on, more amazing albums have been released, and the Texas metal band Stabbing dropped their latest album, Eon Of Obscenity, on January 30. As a whole, the album is finely polished with thick guitar and drums, face-smacking musical grooves and in-your-face breakdowns that show how brilliantly chaotic they are with their music.

Kicking things off is the short and punishing “Rotting Eternal?” which grabs the listener with its high primal intensity that does not let go until the final seconds of the ditty, “Sinking into Catatonic Reality.” Guitarist Marvin Ruiz also shines throughout the album by unleashing an avalanche of skull crushing guitar riffs that match the insanity levels on Eon Of Obscenity.

Altogether, the tunes “Inhuman Torture Chamber,” “Masticate the Subdued” and “Reborn to Kill Once More” are great examples of the band’s no-prisoners approach to their songwriting. Many bands in the metal genre tend to focus on a faster velocity and over-the-top technicality in their musicianship, but Stabbing takes a more measured approach by writing song with strong, clear structure rather than relying solely on guitar riffs to create metal madness.

A rather amusing track is “Ruminations” as it is mostly composed of low key acoustics, folk instruments, soundbites and atmospheric backdrops. There is a definite ominous groove that makes “Ruminations” an enjoyable listening experience. The following number, “Nauseating Composition,” features a guest appearance from Suffocation frontman Ricky Myers, who Bridget famously filled in for on several tour dates while he was recovering from illness. The track is a three minute metal opus that is a whirlwind alternating between frantic and thunderous breakdowns that resembles a harder side of Stabbing.

Overall, Eon Of Obscenity is an album that is filled with blistering and gut-punching music that will have a lot of people to head-banging to the heart-stopping sound. Also, each track proves how Stabbing are in their prime and there is no doubt they will be dazzling their fans’ minds when performing this album live.
