Alternative rock band Coheed and Cambria has released powerful and politically charged animated music video for their song “One Last Miracle,” a track taken from their acclaimed 2025 album The Father of Make BelieveFramed as a dark holiday fable, the video confronts the human cost of immigration enforcement with the mythic symbolism of Santa Claus.

Developed by frontman Claudio Sanchez and directed by Alek Wasilewski, the video centers on Santa Claus receiving a heartbreaking letter from a child whose mother has been deported by ICE. Rather than asking for toys, the child asks for their mother to be brought home for Christmas. The story unfolds in a fun animation style, Santa Claus pairing up with Krampus to take down the government. It pairs the innocence of a holiday wish with the brutal reality of families being torn apart.

Musically, “One Last Miracle” carries a sense of weary hope, its emotional weight underscored by Sanchez’s impassioned vocals and a slow-building arrangement that mirrors the gravity of the narrative. It’s less bombastic than some of the band’s progressive epics, but no less impactful. Sanchez has been candid about the inspiration behind the video, explaining that constant exposure to images of families separated by ICE deeply affected him. “The non-stop scrolling through families being violently torn apart… is upsetting,” he said. “No political agenda is worth this twist of humanity’s moral compass.”

With “One Last Miracle,” Coheed and Cambria deliver an important reminder that protest songs can still be wrapped in melody, myth and holiday lights, without softening their message.
