BABYMETAL Conquer L.A.: 15 Years of Futuristic Metal Magic at Intuit Dome.
On the night of November 1st of 2025, the global phenomenon and kawaii band, BABYMETAL, gave one of the most wonderful and exciting performances of the night at the grand Inuit Dome in Los Angeles for their 15th anniversary. The members of the band included: Suzuka Nakamoto also known as “Su-Metal” (the lead vocals and dancing), Moa Kikuchi also known as “Moametal” (backing vocals and dancing) and Momoko Okazaki, who is known as “Momometal” (also backing vocals and dancing). They dominated the stage the moment that band walked on, transforming the dome into a pure energy and metal of excitement. Fans from all over the world were feeling the excitement, the hype the intensity, from the moment lights disappeared. So much chanting, cheering, waving flags and glowsticks being waved around, creating a sight to remember and embracing this electrifying experience.
Before the show began, pre-show music set the mood that had the crowd all hyped up. Tracks like “Golden,” from the movie K-Pop Demon Hunters, had them singing along to every lyric of the song, while the King of The Hill theme resulted in cheers and laughter. With the build-up energy, their anticipation for the following acts only grew more.
The first off to perform was Jason Richardson, who opened the night with his stunning guitar work. He displayed his skills and creativity as he played each musical piece with a different guitar. His last piece was a rendition of John Williams’ Harry Potter theme, shocking the crowd as it then sets up the stage for the BABYMETAL experience.
After Richardson left the stage, the fans cheered at the surprise announcement when they watched the huge LED screens that revealed a special collaboration Resident Evil x BABYMETAL, celebrating the game franchise’s 30th anniversary. On the screen, they saw Lady Dimitrescu, one of the most iconic characters from Resident Evil Village, who not only announced the Resident Evil x BABYMETAL collaboration, but also the merchandise set that will soon be released in 2026. This sent excitement through the roof as BABYMETAL fans, Resident Evil fans, or both alike clearly cannot wait.
Once the announcement was over, BABYMETAL performance started as soon as the lights were dimmed. However, before they entered and performed, a narration told the story of three sisters who were chosen by the Fox God. And they were destined to defeat the darkness or evil amongst them. The lights, lasers, smoke (fog/haze) and fire (pyrotechnics/flames) lit up the arena that left the crowd in awe. Finally, the trio appeared in which the fans erupted into cheers and applause. Su-metal, Moametal and Momometal looked like fierce warriors as they wore futuristic, armor-inspired outfits. They were dark, layered and edgy in which it was perfectly built for their high-energy performance. As the “BABYMETAL DEATH” music played, the trio walked to the center stage with such poise and energy in their game face mode.
The setlist of their songs balanced nostalgia and evolution. Opening with “from me to u,” classics like “Gimme Chocolate!!” “RATATATA,” “Distortion” and “KxAxWxAxIxI” had the arena roaring. Lights shifted between fiery reds-oranges and calming blues-purples. Their choreography was precise yet explosive. They seamlessly matched the heavy riffs and pounding drums of the music. This wasn’t just a dance — it was storytelling in motion with their body and emotions.
One of the standout moments of the night was “Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!” as fans banged their heads back and forth in unison. They were full of energy. Another was “Pa Pa Ya” in which they were jumping and singing to every lyric and beat of the music. The intensity of the music built up with use of lasers and pyrotechnics.
It was a nice difference when they started to play “The One,” in English version. Su-metal sang all while Moametal and Momometal had provided soft beautiful harmonies. From heavy riffs transitioning to a gentle soundscape, lights were shimmering all over the arena like stars. It had created a wonderful moment as the fans were singing the song along.
The night closed with “Road of Resistance,” in which everyone in the arena jumping, chanting and headbanging. Confetti exploded as cameras captured the looks of BVABYMETAL, including the ecstatic fans as well. After their song came to an end and before they exited off the stage, Su-metal, Moametal and Momometal grabbed BABYMETAL flags and ran to the stage. They went to every corner of the stage and shouted to the fans “We are!” while the fans roared back “BABYMETAL!” It was a triumphant call-and-response that ended the night perfectly.
BABYMETAL had made an unforgettable experience for the fans all over the world. Their outfits screamed out sci-fi futuristic armor, choreography was spectacular and the storytelling was wonderful. A night to remember as it left the fans (myself included) with a smile on their faces, merchandise in their hands and most importantly, music in their hearts. Fifteen years in, BABYMETAL still continues to push the boundaries of heavy metal, bridging their songs to many different places.
Los Angeles witnessed BABYMETAL demonstrating how they produced their own storytelling, their connection with the fans, their energy as people cheer for their name and showmanship. With sold-out tours all across Asia, Europe and North America, BABYMETAL has continued to shape up their own unique blend of music and story. It was never the end, but the beginning of a new world —a metal world. It is definitely a must-see show that you wouldn’t and shouldn’t miss out on, especially if you are a fan of BABYMETAL or are just someone looking for a new blend of music.
