Billy Idol played the Kia Forum Thursday night like someone who has been doing this forever, but still loves every second. He moved across the stage with a sharp grin, trading nods and shouts with a crowd that spanned generations. Steve Stevens’s guitar was as fierce as ever, slicing through each song with bright solos and little flourishes that kept things alive. The set balanced big sing alongs with quieter moments where Idol shared short stories about his past. “Rebel Yell,” “Eyes Without a Face” and “White Wedding” all landed with fresh energy. By the time the lights came up it felt less like a nostalgia trip and more like watching a veteran artist who still knows exactly how to hold an arena.
