Ohana Festival opened in style Friday night at Doheny State Beach. Day 1 was a lineup walk through moods and melodies. Deep Sea Diver and Hinds set the tone early with quiet tension and raw edges. Kim Deal followed with her own melodic command. Then, Stereophonics pushed things forward, and Lukas Nelson added a grounded, soulful twist before things really cranked. Garbage brought their grit and noise, Kings of Leon dialed in big choruses and finally, Eddie Vedder and his band Earthlings closed the night with songs that felt deeply personal, plus a surprise “Gut Feeling” cover that landed just right.
