The Studio at The Factory proved a perfect crucible for chaos, melody and unhinged fun on the night Anamanaguchi toured with Be Your Own Pet and Peelander‑Z. Three acts with wildly different takes on punk, electronics and performance art came together, pledging not just a concert but a full sensory experience. The venue — gritty yet intimate — gave each band room to roam, both musically and theatrically.
Opening the night, Peelander‑Z didn’t just set a tone; they cannonballed into it. In full costume, props in hand, they engineered immediate audience engagement: shouts, laughs, some bewilderment, some awe. They played fast, messy, joyful punk, leaning into theatrics more than precision, which was absolutely the right move. There were moments of absurd comedy — audience members dragged up, perhaps even a weird game of “follow the leader” across the dance floor.

By the time Be Your Own Pet stepped onstage, the room was primed. They followed the chaos with a more focused kind of ferocity. Songs were delivered with sharp urgency — snarling vocals, tight drum work, guitars that cut through with both melody and grit. Where Peelander‑Z was letting the audience laugh and play, Be Your Own Pet was getting them deeply involved, emotionally and physically.

Anamanaguchi closed out the night in kaleidoscopic fashion as expected, but what was remarkable was how the preceding sets had paved the way: by the time their first thread of synth wheezed into the mix, people were already primed. Their set was a tapestry of 8‑bit bleeps, brooding pads, electric guitar, pounding drums and a visual assault of lights, pixel art projections, color washes. When the encore or final numbers hit, the crowd was in full coordination: hands up, voices loud, some glowing merch, others drenched in sweat. It was sensory overload in the best way — joyful, communal, expansive.

Overall, the evening was a triumph of energy, spectacle and uneven kitsch — exactly what a tour with Anamanaguchi, Be Your Own Pet and Peelander‑Z promised. It was the kind of show that reminds you why you go live: for the unrepeatable magic of collective sound, sweat, laughter and surprise. For fans of punk, chiptune, performance art or just irrepressible fun, this was a night well worth the ticket.
