Legendary bassist Peter Hook will bring his band The Light to Chicago next summer for a two-night run at Metro on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29, 2026. The shows will feature full-album performances of Joy Division and New Order classics, a catalog Hook helped create and that continues to shape alternative music to this day.
The summer tour will sweep through North America with stops in Los Angeles, Toronto, and New York before reaching Chicago for one of its most intimate weekends. Metro’s stage offers the kind of close-quarters energy that feels almost tailor-made for these songs, giving fans a rare chance to experience the hits in a raw, intimate setting.
Peter Hook first rose to prominence in the late 1970s as co-founder of Joy Division, where his melodic, driving basslines became the band’s unmistakable signature. Following the death of frontman Ian Curtis, Hook went on to form New Order, expanding post-punk into new wave and electronic territory and releasing career-defining records like Power, Corruption & Lies and Technique. With The Light, Hook has carried that history forward, revisiting the albums in full while keeping their organic charm alive onstage.
