Cage The Elephant At El Rey Theatre On Sept. 5

Cage the Elephant has announced an intimate show for Los Angeles. The band will be opening for Oasis as part of their Los Angeles tour stops, and have now included a new show at El Rey Theatre on Friday, September 5.

Cage the Elephant is playing at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, September 6 and on Sunday, September 7. The band will also make an appearance at this years Ohana Festival at Doheny State Beach on Sunday, September 28. Their new date at El Rey Theatre will serve as a warm-up show.

Cage The Elephant consists of singer Matt Shultz, guitarist Brad Shultz, bassist Daniel Tichenor, guitarist Lincoln Parish, and drummer Jared Champion. The band originated in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2006. The band released their debut self-titled album in 2008 followed by Thank You, Happy Birthday in 2011. In 2013 their third record Melophobia, not only was received positively but it earned the band its first Grammy nomination. Their 2015 album Tell Me I’m Pretty and the 2019 record Social Cues won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. Their most recent album Neon Pill (2024) has earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best alternative music performance.
The band is most recognized for their energetic and entertaining live performances. The group has pulled influences from The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, and The Pixies.
