Babymetal brings endless talent and mayhem on Metal Forth.
The Japanese kawaii metal band, Babymetal, stylized in all caps, have released their new fiery album. Formed in Tokyo in ’10, the band is made up of Suzuka Nakamoto as “Su-metal,” Moa Kikuchi as “Moametal” and Momoko Okazaki as “Momometal.” The last album Babymetal released was The Other One back in ’23 and now, the ladies are back with Metal Forth. As a whole, the record is fantastic by how each track explores the side of Babymetal that has matured into a soul-shaking musical force.
The opening tune, “from me to u,” is a great example of Babymetal’s maturity, as the instrumentation screams metal music that is blended in with top-notch harmony. The best part about the whole thing is hearing the artist Poppy yelling out the lyrics in pure rage. Poppy is known for her dynamic voice, and her contribution on “from me to u” makes the whole music vibe sound more hardcore.
Another vein-shaking ditty is “Song Three,” and what is fabulous is hearing Slaughter To Prevail smacking the background with their earth-shattering presence. Right at the start, a dark and commanding voice rages havoc, while the band performs blazing metal before Babymetal steals the show with their elegant and harmonic voices on “Song Three.” For those who enjoy headbanging, this composition will satisfy that need.
Now, “Sunset Kiss” is totally a different composition because of the pop and metal filling the atmosphere with a lovely, sincere style. Rock band Polylphia’s appearance is amazing, but what really shines is hearing Babymetal shaking things up with their sizzling musical and vocal skills. The sound of the band’s metal blending in with the pop gives “Sunset Kiss” an extra burst of sensational energy.
Another absolute banger is “Metal!” This hard-hitting and headbanging composition bleeds bombastic metal music, and what truly shines on the whole thing is hearing Babymetal adding raw and powerful Japanese metal into the chaos. By adding their culture to the music, the band further proves why they are very successful in the music industry. Another fantastic part of “Metal!” is hearing guitarist Tom Morello wildly and blissfully shredding his guitar in the background. Each riff brings a bigger electrical boost to this number.
Overall, Babymetal is showing no signs of slowing down on Metal Forth, and surely, the ladies will be dazzling people’s minds when performing live.
