Pop country phenom Zach Bryan has just released three brand new songs to coincide with his headlining performance at BST Hyde Park in London. Initially, Bryan told fans he would be releasing a single on Monday, this failed to pass and he instead put out this statement on Instagram:
“yoooo decided to put two songs out instead of just one it’s gonna take an extra day!! Songs’ll be out Tuesday sorry sorry sorryThey are kind of just tunes that didn’t belong on the record, and they didn’t fit on an EP either, so I’m just releasing them to get them out into the world cause I love them. Hope you guys enjoy them. I love each one of ya!! even the folks who talked mad shit all year also only five people ever have sold out Hyde Park two nights in a row. I have you guys to thank for it. I love you so much for showing out London. I will love your beautiful city and country forever! See you next time!”
This Tuesday release didn’t happen either but finally on Wednesday, Zach Bryan entreated fans to three whole new songs. The first of the three fittingly being about being homesick for Oklahoma while in London. In addition to selling out the fest, Bryan’s Hyde Park performance is notable because of a special guest appearance. According to Stereogum, a fan named Ollie Hawkins has been begging for a spot in the limelight alongside his idol Zach Bryan. Specifically, he wanted to perform Bryan’s hit song “Heading South” with him onstage at Hyde Park and Bryan made his wish come true. Some people might say it’s bad practice to encourage this type of borderline delusional fan behavior and suggest that this is evidence of how the internet has made the line between performer and clout chasing sycophant completely nonexistent but we’re talking about it……
