Beholder provides relentless music on The Temple Of Tyrant.
Metal ballers Beholder have been creating musical havoc since 2021, and last month, the band released their latest effort, In The Temple Of Tyrant. The record’s thrilling instrumentation and vocal performance not only contribute to the lingering chaos but also show a harder and louder side of Behold. This is good because The Temple Of Tyrant proves how hungry the band is to make dynamic music.
Kicking things off is “A Pale Blood Sky.” What is truly enjoyable about the ditty is how the vein-jolting guitar playing and solo bring the elements of sizzling thrash metal. At the same time, the vocalist harmoniously and powerfully sings out the deep lyrics. Also, the chanting in the chorus gives “A Pale Blood Sky” a solid anthem vibe.
Another face-smacking number is “Into The Underdark,” and while listening, the flawless vocal performance evokes a feeling of lingering doom. Each vocal tone brings the sensation of fear and despair, while the sizzling guitar solo dazzles the mind with in-your-face riffs. “Into The Underdark is a beautiful but deadly number filled with amazing musical talent.
“For Those Who Fell” is a completely different tune because the band plays on a slower music tempo filled with pure and raw human emotions. The whole thing is stunning because the guitar and drum playing contribute to a feeling of hopelessness, while the vocalist emotionally wails out the relatable lyrics. “For Those Who Fell” is a compelling composition that can speak for those going through hard times.
“Summoned and Bound” is another example of thrash metal, but on a darker side. Sure, the guitar and drum playing bring an Iron Maiden vibe, but once again, the vocal performance shines brightly because each low vocal tone conveys a threatening feeling of danger vastly approaching, and there is no way to escape the darkness.
For those who like classic metal or thrash metal, The Temple Of Tyrant will fulfill those needs because each track is filled with wonderful, face-changing music that brings back the old-school metal vibe. Surely, these songs will be just as fantastic live as well.
