Maia, otherwise known as mxmtoon, is an American singer-songwriter and Youtuber. Her music is lyrically seen as emotionally transparent, and she often plays the ukulele in her work. The 24 year old, pop artist, is planning to take off on a North American tour this year. Her most recent release, Liminal space, an AWAL record, was released on November 1st. This record was her fifth studio album, which released singles like “I Hate Texas” and “Rain”. According to Celebrity Access, this was her first time being able to work exclusively with an all-female team of producers, writers, engineers, and even in the broader creative visual process, working with female photographers and designers, including visual artist KangHee Kim. It seems that the blend between a female team and the emotionally reflective album, were the perfect pair to create a project like this one. The tour is set to take off in February on the 18th at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville. The 27-date tour will hit major cities and make its way to New York in early April. Mxmtoon is scheduled to play at Brooklyn Paramount on April 3rd, with her co-headliner, Katherine Li. Tickets to the tour originally went on sale on Friday, September 20th. Although, tickets to the Thursday night show in NYC are still on sale, and selling for as cheap as $48 USD. for GA Floor.
