This upcoming summer in Chicago, heavy metal bands System Of A Down & Avenged Sevenfold will perform at Soldier Field on Aug. 31, 2025. They will be joined by Polyphia and Wisp.
Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, and John Dolmayan of System Of A Down, announced a series of performances starting on Aug. 28, 2025, with a show in New Jersey. The tour will take him to Chicago where the band will perform with Avenged Sevenfold.
System Of A Down has been making music since 1994. Their first album album, self-titled, System Of A Down, was released four years later in 1998. They have released only five albums, with their last being in 2005. They have also released four singles with their most recent being in 2020.
As for Avenged Sevenfold, they were formed in 1999 by M. Shadows on lead vocals and keyboard who still performs today. Like many metal bends, there have been countless members but the band currently consists of Shadows, Zacky Vengeance on rhythm guitar, Synyster Gates on lead guitar, Johnny Christ on bass, and Brooks Wackerman on drums.
Avenged Sevenfold released their first album, Sounding The Seventh Trumpet, in the spring of 2002. They have since released 12 albums, including live and deluxe edition albums, 12 singles, and one EP.
Both bands make music that creeps into sister territory with unsettling lyrics and visuals. The collaboration of the two bands should make for a one-stop-shop all things heavy metal performance.
