In celebration of their latest album, SORCS 80, Osees is talking on a world tour beginning in February 2025. It is an eight-month tour with a North American performance at the tail end. The band is set to stop in Chicago for two nights of shows on Oct. 29 & 30, 2025.
Osees was formed in 1998 by lead singer John Dwyer in San Francisco, CA. The band’s initial purpose was to promote Dwyer’s solo music, but it gradually evolved into what it is today. There have been many name and member changes throughout the year, but the band now includes longtime members Dwyer, bassist Tim Hellman, drummer Dan Rincon, drummer Paul Quattrone, and keyboardist Tomas Dolas.
Since 1997, the band has consistently changed its name through alum releases and eras. As of now, the band is called Osees, but they have also been called Orinoka Crash Suite, OCS, Orange County Sound, The Ohsees, The Oh Sees, Thee Oh Sees, and Oh Sees.
Through the name changes, they have released 29 albums starting in 2003. They have been consistently releasing albums every year, sometimes twice a year since their start.
Osees is set to perform at Thalia Hall for two nights on Oct. 29 & 30 in Chicago. Tickets can be purchased now through Ticketweb.com.
