The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart Announce 15th Anniversary Reunion Tour

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart announced a B-side collection called Perfect Right Now ahead of their anniversary reunion tour in February and March 2025 in Portugal and Spain. The tour will include the band performing through the entirety of their debut album, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, in celebration of the 15th anniversary of its original release on Feb. 3, 2009. 

The 15th-anniversary tour will feature classic hits but is also expected to commemorate the band’s entire catalog. After disbanding in 2019, the reunion is sure to be a bittersweet moment for old fans as the band comes together to share their music and reflect on their beginnings.

The lineup will include original band members Kip Berman on vocals and guitar, Peggy Wang on vocals and keyboard, Kurt Feldmen on drums and Christoph Hochheim on guitar with Eddy Marshall filling in for bassist Alex Naidus, who cannot join due to “(very good) personal things,” according to Pitchfork.

“I don’t know if we’ll be doing more (or less) of this in the future,” Berman stated. “But for right now, we’re all excited to get this chance to be together and play these songs that, quite literally, changed our lives.”

“Many of these songs, like those that comprised our debut record, were written in that *now* – making up in wild pop fantasy what we couldn’t quite yet achieve through musical ability,” Berman said in a press release. “But even if that *now* is now an irrevocable *then,* I still believe that there is nothing better than making music with your friends and dreaming, as our Myspace page once proclaimed, of ‘being the biggest band in the world—to about 18 people.'”
