The Irish post-punk band formed in Dublin in 2014, is making their way back to New York this spring. The bands’ most recent album, Romance, was released in August of this year, and the tour will be in support of the record. Fontaines D.C just finished up a massive run of North American dates and took off on their European leg of the tour on November 1st. According to Pitchfork, the North American dates will begin in Seattle on April 17th, and end in New York on May 16th. The band most recently released a video for their single “Bug”, which was for a film directed by English filmmaker Andrea Arnold, and stars actor Barry Keoghan. In an article with Blunt, Arnold mentions, “Extending the images and my Bird world for the ‘Bug’ track felt like the most natural thing in the world, like part of the same thing. I wouldn’t have done it had I not felt that and I would hardly do it for anyone.” It’s clear that Fontaines D.C are not just artists, but also entertainers, and bring about a crowd and an audience that mirrors their energy. That energy will be electrified in New York on both May 16th and May 17th at Hammerstein Ballroom. Tickets to both shows are still on sale, and selling for as cheap as $91 USD. for General Admission seated.
